Highlights of the I.T. Policy 1999

 

 

  • U.P. to become `Smart State’ within ten years

  • Micro-earth station will be set up at NOIDA (Gautambudhnagar), Dehradun, Lucknow & Agra.

  • 1.12 lakh villages targeted to create facilities relating to telecommunication in private & joint sector.

  • ‘Software Parks’ at NOIDA (Gautambudhnagar), Dehradun, Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi & Moradabad.

  • Trade tax relaxation will be admissible to I.T Industries for 12 years on the basis of their capital investment limits or their working place.

  • Trade tax relaxation will be admissible on software lease/agreement work or use of licence.

  • Two percent trade tax along with surcharge on computer hardware.

  • ‘Computer Education Centre’ will be at all the educational institutions during next 3 years

  • ‘Indian Institutes of Information Technology’ (IIIT) will be established in Allahabad.

  • During the next five years, two ‘Computer Training Centers’ will be set up in every development block of the State.

  • Green Card facility will be for I.T. Industry.

  • The software industries will be exempted from pollution control laws related to air & water pollution.

  • Permission of 50% more floor arm ratio (FAR) will be granted to IT units set up in identified areas, IT parks & STP.

  • Special incentives for investment more than 50 crore.
